Regarding the Mindfulness Practice homework assignment, please reflect on that process and share its impact: positive, negative, or neutral. How could you use this in your own life or how could it benefit your clients?

As we discussed in class closure last week, please state 2 things that you are taking away from this course in Human Behavior and the Social Environment.

When I did my mindfulness practice I had an overall positive outcome. prior to doing my mindfulness exercise I turned off my phone, laptop, T.V. and closed my bedroom and laid on my bed and close my eyes. Although the stress of school and work kept creeping into my thoughts I knew that I had to tune out everything including thoughts would have distracted my mind body and soul. Once was able to tone everything out I was able to be in tune with everything around me. I took deep breaths every second and once I finished my mindfulness exercise I felt relaxed and claim. I can definitely see myself incorporating the mindfulness excercise in the future.

The first thing I took away from this class is remembering how the social, environmental, biological development greatly impacts others when working with vulnerable clients. The second thing i will take from this class is epigenetics plays an important role in our overall behavior and perspective in our life.

  • Share 2 changes/additions you made to your website (note if they were peer suggested or your own ideas) and explain your reasoning behind it. If you did not make any changes, please state as such.
  • Explain the relationship between stress, physical health, and mental health as it relates to subjective well-being as concretely evidenced by the text.

The two changes that I made was not from the peer review, but more from my idea. When I went over the images that I added changed some of the colors on my page to represent my personality. The second thing I changed was adding editing what I had written to sound more professional but reflective of me.

According to Broderick & Blewitt (2006), stated stressors affects the nervous system, which activates the HPA axis, causing release of hormones that creates your body to think it’s under attack. Stress mobilizes the body’s energy resource to enhance certain functions such as motor and sensory abilities. this could have a detrimental effect an individual’s physical health, and mental health.

Give one example of your own thinking at one or more points in your life that reflect the following:

According to Broderick (2015) of my own thinking that reflected a dualism when I was nine and listening to what my parents told me about my culture, womanhood, customs and tradition without forming my own concept or idea of my own. My life reflected towards multiplicity when I moved out of my parents home and exploring adulthood and having to negative through adulthood with uncertainty on how to navigate through adulthood, I was forced to make life decisions that affected me as an individual and as adult, such as finical burdens, independence, education, personal relationship etc.. Relativism came through my late 20’s when I’ve found my own identity of who am, such my values, culture, and religious beliefs.

What are two marker events that could help a young adult to develop into their current level of thinking?

The two marker that can help a young adult to develop their own current level of thinking will first to have a good support system from their family, friends, and peers they can go to for support when life gets difficult. The second marker would for young adult something they can look up as a role model that would help them set a positive influence in their life.

Referring to the peer review process for student websites, please state three changes you would recommend for your peer’s website and justify reasons for those changes.

Citing the text for specific supportive evidence, name one positive aspect and one negative aspect that influenced your adolescent development.

The first thing I would recommend for my peer to change is the size of her font to bigger because the size appears to be too small, and if there are employers who have issues with their vision it would be difficult to read her blog. The thing I would recommend is for her page to have more pictures to reflect on her contents on her blog. The reason why I felt it is necessary to add more picture is because some employers might be more visual than others and having more picture would to more perspective on to she is trying to convey. The third thing I would change is for her to have more colors to add a bit more creativity to her blog. the reason it’s important is that it would show the employer that she is creative.

The positive aspect that positively shaped my adolescent development was parents because they were very supportive and encouraged me always do my best even I fail i can always get back up. The second negatively impacted my adolescent development was my ethnicity because my peers made fun of me because I was from a different country and they looked at me as uneducated and uncivilized.
